About Me
 Hi, I'm Genevieve.

I'm a therapist with a real passion for working with women during difficult transitions such as going to college, experiencing heartbreak, becoming pregnant, learning how to be a parent, and separation and divorce.

During these times, we discover reserves of inner strength that we never knew we had. If we can open ourselves up to new ways of interacting with painful experiences, it can unlock the door to honest and vulnerable communication and a greater capacity for love.

I've been an adventurer on the path of personal growth for many years and I know how hard it can be to take the initial first steps towards healing. I'm glad you made it here.

Professional Background

I've worked with women professionally, in and outside the therapy room, for more than twenty years. I provided crisis intervention, rape crisis counseling, and violence prevention for many years before becoming a therapist.

I'm also familiar with the way life sometimes unfolds in unexpected ways. I was midway through a PhD in Sociology at UC-Davis, studying intergenerational trauma and interviewing children of Holocaust survivors when  I was overcome with a desire to not just passively study, record, and write about these survivors' stories, but to help women heal from their trauma in a more personal and lasting way.

Listening to that intuition led me to my most profound and rewarding life's work. I went on to receive a second Masters in Counseling Psychology from JFK University in Berkeley, CA, and later developed further specialties in EMDR to treat trauma, somatic and mindfulness-based therapies, and sandtray therapy. I treat a variety of traumas including acute trauma, childhood or attachment trauma, sexual trauma, and medical trauma.
