How I Work
I feel honored each time I embark on a journey of healing and self-expression with a client. I will work with you in a safe and collaborative way to determine your goals for therapy.
I will invite you to slow down and turn your attention inward, so you can notice thoughts and feelings that emerge and ultimately learn how to make more choices in the moment rather than simply reacting. I'll help you explore your patterns of relating to others, without judgment, so you can decide which parts of your identity feel right and which are old stuck ways of interacting that no longer serve you.
Therapy is a balance between support and challenge. When you first start therapy, and during times of crisis, you may find that support from an empathic, warm person is what helps the most. During other times when your life is more steady, I'll challenge you to slow down and be vulnerable as you connect with the most authentic version of who you are.
Finally, and most importantly, you will develop new skills that allow you to feel more at peace, safer in your body, and more conscious of your internal thoughts and feelings.
